Anything that could pass by might affect your thoughts, how you think and reshape the view you have on certain things in life.
A solution that helped me reshape my inner voice was actually not believing it when it was harsh, and believing it when it meant taking it easy on myself.
As someone whose life genuinely changed through shifting my self-perception, I think the most important thing to control is your input. We think the content we consume is harmless or temporary, but it shapes our brain and perception of ourselves more than we realize.
When I became intentional about what I listened to, read, and who I surrounded myself with, my self-perception changed tremendously. Experiences matter too, because they create evidence in our minds for who we believe we are and what we’re capable of.
I also think it helps to ask yourself why you care so much about a certain person’s opinion. Sometimes it’s because they have something you want, but sometimes you’re just attached to an idea of who you think you should be, that you aren’t. That realization changed a lot for me.
And honestly, I don’t think the fear of being judged ever fully disappears you just stop letting it control you as much.
I never thought of it that way. Thanks for sharing.
I like your point that experiences become evidence for us. I often focus on trying to change my thoughts, but rarely stop to consider that my inputs, environment, and experiences may be shaping those thoughts in the first place. You also reminded me of a book that has influenced my thinking a great deal: Wanting by Luke Burgis.
And you're probably right about judgment it never fully disappears.
I only recently started to notice the power of inputs myself, so you’re definitely not alone in that, looked up Wanting after you mentioned it, it sounds really interesting and will definitely be my next read. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the post
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Mohammed!
Enjoyed reading the blog Moayad.
It reminded me of this quote from Seneca in On the Shortness of Life:
“A man is as unhappy as he has convinced himself he is.”
A powerful reminder that our perception shapes much of our reality.
That's profound. Thanks for sharing Rakan! 🙏

beautiful 👌🏻
reminds me of one of my favourite quotes of the last year: "the soul becomes dyed with the color of its thoughts"
That's so true. Thank you for sharing Yousif! Marcus Aurelius was a walking encyclopedia.
